Hunger Games

I just finished reading The Hunger Games by; Suzanne Collins, and I must say that is not at all what I expected.

Imagine, instead of North America, there is Panem. It is all that remains of what used to be North America, before a series of events destroyed most of it. Panem, a Capital that is surrounded by 12 Districts, holds the Hunger Games every year, but the Capital is not as nice as they claim to be. People from the Capital like to place bets on who will win the Hunger Games and who won’t. They find it as a nice way to keep the 12 Districts in line. Two teenagers, between 12-18 get randomly selected from each district to participate. All 24 teenagers are put into an arena to fight to the death, because there can only be one winner. Follow Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark through their journey of the Hunger Games, as they struggle through life and death situations.

Now that I have finished The Hunger Games, I can read City of Glass, Linger, Catching Fire, and Marked. In that order. 🙂 Sometimes I think KayLee and Sarah have brainwashed me or something. 😀
